The diploma of the «winners» was created by the architect Pino Stampini of Rome. The main theme was a U-shaped festoon of mountain fruits and flowers, surrounded by snow crystals. At the base of the festoon was placed a ribbon with the Olympic motto «Citius - Altius - Fortius». This diploma was printed on watermarked paper made especially by the Miliani paper mills of Fabriano, in ivory colour. The festoon was pine cone-colored, the snow crystals were silver, and the five circles, which surmounted the inscription «VII Olympic Winter Games - Cortina d'Ampezzo 1956», were gold. These diplomas were signed by the President of the IOC, Avery Brundage and the President of the Organizing Committee Count Paolo Thaon di Revel. 300 were made and delivered in a case.
