"The Great Olympiad" thoroughly committed the ability of the Italian film industry and undoubtedly all the collaborators on this work brought to it, in addition to their expertise, a true sporting spirit and all their enthusiasm.

In the wonderful setting of an ancient and very modern Rome, the sixteen days of sporting battles have their lasting document that will pass down over time the history of the XVII Olympiad in Rome, the most beautiful of the modern era. Only cinema could perform this miracle, and cinema, this modern and unsurpassed means of dissemination, made its best means available, making a significant effort to create a faithful spectacle, delving into the intimacy of the athletes, following them step by step: in moments of rest, in the imminence of competition, in the excitement of competition, in the moment of truth, in the moment of great prowess. The film about the XVII Roman Olympiad is a faithful and spectacular testimony to the great event. It lives cinematically, according to a clearly show-based approach, renewing with color and the big screen those victories and emotions that are worth a full four years of waiting. The protagonists are the athletes, and the goal has always followed them, capturing the secret of every moment of the Olympics: the magical swearing-in ceremony, the triumph of the winners, the discouragement of the losers, the festive farewell of the closing ceremony. Every sensation, even the most intimate, was prey to the camera.
