Three ski jumping events were held at the XX Olympic Winter Games, all reserved for male athletes.
SALTO: RAGAZZINI D'ORO - JUMPING: GOLDEN KIDS

It took two boys of fine fabric to break a taboo, the one that saw Austria without gold in ski jumping since three editions of the Winter Games. With a jump of one hundred and forty metres, Thomas Morgenstern, born in 1986, won the HS 140 springboard ahead of his compatriot Andreas Kofler, two years older than him and the two were part of the quartet that also won the most valuable metal in the team event. It is actually Norway that wins the most medals (four in total, three for Lars Bystoel) while the great Finn Ahonen is still disappointed.
