I "BRONZINI", TROFEO PER I VINCITORI
THE "BRONZINI", TROPHY FOR THE WINNERS
During the awards ceremony, the top three finishers, both men and women, in addition to the medal and diploma, were presented by the "Magnifica Comunità Ampezzana" with the so-called "Bronzini" containing a bouquet of edelweiss, characteristic vases of Ampezzo craftsmanship. The Bronzini were made of patinated bronze with paw feet and the embossed inscription "Cortina 1956" and the Olympic hoops.
The "Bronzini" were the objects that best represented the Ampezzano area, so much so that even companies used it as gifts for their customers and guests. During the 1956 Winter Olympics, in addition to being donated to the Olympic winners along with their medals, the bronze medals, albeit in smaller sizes, were also taken home by many guests of the city of Cortina.
