SESTRIERE

Commissioned by the Agnelli family during the 1930s, at 2,035 metres above sea level, Sestriere was the highest location of the Games. It had already hosted the 1997 Alpine Ski World Championships and also hosted the men's and women's speed and technical events in Turin 2006.
The races were held in two different venues.

Sestriere Borgata: The Sestriere Borgata facility is located approximately 2 kilometers from Sestriere, and is connected to the hill by chairlifts. The first part of the track alternates short sliding sections with very technical curves. Below the track enters a forest where it becomes steeper and faster with alternating turns and schuss until the finish. The men's super-G, downhill and combined downhill races were held on this track, named "Kandahar Banchetta Giovanni Nasi".

Sestriere Colle: The facility is located on the hill of the same name that connects the Upper Chisone Valley with the Upper Susa Valley and can accommodate 9,250 spectators. The Sises giant slalom track is among the most technical in the world. The start of the men's giant slalom was located on the slopes of Mount Sises, while the women's was halfway up the first section. The upper part of the giant slalom is very steep with changes in slope that guarantee spectacular performances. After a short false plan the track becomes technically more difficult, varying continuously until the finish. The Giovanni A. Agnelli track, which hosted the slaloms, runs parallel to the giant slalom track. The first part, very steep and challenging, is followed by a slight false plane (characterized by a steep slope).
